19th century 8 day fusee wall clock by Dent, 33, Cockspur street, London, and numbered 23890. Mahogany 2 piece case, back box and bezel secured by 4 pegs. Back box has locking bottom door and pendulum side access door. 12" diameter original white painted dial marked with Roman numerals, and blued steel hands protected by a locking cast brass bezel. Rectangular plated chain fusee movement.

Original painted 11" square dial with bird of paradise feature, floral and strawberry corner decoration, subsidiary calendar dial, and blued steel hands. Movement strikes the hours on a bell.

Early 19th century verge wall clock by Samuel Hardy from London. Mahogany one piece "saltbox" case with shaped surround and cast brass decoration. With latched bottom and side doors. Silvered and engraved brass dial and blued steel counterbalanced hands are protected by a locking concave cast brass bezel. Rectangular plate line fusee verge movement is separated by knopped pillars. Samuel Hardy was a member of the clockmakers company, 1778-1805, he worked at Somerset street, Aldgate.

Verge wall clock
18th century 8 day longcase clock by Arthur Bristow from Eversley Hampshire. Mahogany case with break arch hood and long locking trunk door. 12" brass dial with subsidiary seconds and calendar dials. Hands are of blued steel. Movement strikes the hours on a bell. This clock was supplied to Bristow by probably Philip Avenell from Farnham, Surrey, whose name is scratched onto the rear of the chapter ring and calendar ring. Other "Avenell" features are the seconds and hour hand, and the movement is typically of Avenell high quality.

Rosewood and brass inlaid chamfered top case with gadrooned decoration and bun feet. 4.5" silvered and engraved dial marked with Roman numerals and the makers name. Blued steel moon hands. Locking glazed front and back doors. Chain fusee anchor escapement timepiece movement with shaped plates. Probably George Rowell, 1770-1834.

Back box has locking bottom door and pendulum side access door. 12" convex original white painted dial, with blued steel hands, protected by a convex locking cast brass bezel. Line fusee movement with shaped shouldered plates separated by knopped pillars. Probably Thomas Hubbard working 1828-39

Fine quality mahogany veneered back box with brass inlay, and locking bottom door which is radiused to the wall. There are 2 pendulum side access doors. 14" convex wood dial with original paintwork, fine blued steel hands protected by a convex glazed locking cast brass bezel. Line fusee anchor escapement movement separated by chamfered shouldered plates which is secured to the back of the dial by a falseplate which is signed Owen Birmingham, (Edward Owen c1795-1821). Early 19th century 8 day fusee wall clock by Rigby from London. 2 piece mahogany case, with bezel secured to back box with 4 pegs. Back box has a locking bottom door and pendulum side access door. Convex wood dial with original paintwork, and unusual curved blued steel spade hands, protected by a cast brass locking bezel. Line fusee "A" plate movement with pendulum holdfast. Movement secured to wood surround by a circular steel false plate. There are various Rigbys working in London during the early part of the 19th century.
