Mid Victorian 8 day, tortoiseshell and brass inlaid mantle clock, retailed by Thuret from Paris. Movement made by Richard, trademark and number 814 on backplate. Movement strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. Full length glazed locking front door. Sunburst pendulum, also numbered 814.

Clock is almost the same as the one pictured in the book English Dial Clocks, by Ronald Rose. Plate 16. Movement drilled for passing strike and pendulum retaining block. 12" flat dial, convex glass fitted to locking brass bezel. Locking bottom door.
