Description: Erly 19th century 8 day trunk dial wall clock by Cockburn (probably James, working 1828-39) from Richmond, Surrey.
2 piece mahogany and flame mahogany veneer case with brass inlay. Case and bezel secured by 4 pegs. Case bottom is radiused to the wall. With locking bottom door and pendulum side access door.
12" convex dial, marked with roman numerals and makers name above and below the centre. The hands are moon pattern, blued steel. Dial is protected by a glazed cast brass bezel.
Line fusee movement with shaped shoulder plates separated by knopped pillars.
Clock probably from Roehampton vicarage, Alton rd., less than 3 miles from Richmond. See label on case back.
