Eight day longcase clock
Description: Early 19th century 8 day longcase clock by William Avenell from Farnham, Surrey.
Oak case with long locking front door, break arch hood and finished with 3 ball finials.
12" arched, original white painted dial with geometric fan corners,and vignette in the arch depicting a maiden, a galleon and an anchor. The dial is marked with roman and arabic numerals and has subsidiary seconds and calendar dials. The hands are matching blued steel.
The movement is of 8 day duration and strikes the hours on a bell.
