LBSCR fusee wall clock
Description: Mahogany cased 10" dial chain fusee wall clock supplied to the London Brighton South Coast Railway in 1912 by John Jennings. Numbered 1088B this clock was allocated to the telegraph office at Lewes station.
The 2 piece mahogany case has 1088B stamped onto the back of the backbox. The backbox has its original locking bottom door and pendulum access side door. The overpainted dial with John Walkers` name and red 24 hour numerals is completely original. The clock also retains its original blued steel hands and glazed cast brass bezel.
The movement backplate is stamped JJ, for John Jennings. This is one of 30 clocks supplied to the LBSCR by Jennings.
